Ok Gang,
New Address again?? I know I'm moving around a lot this should be permanent.
Many things have happened recently and I have many questions.

1.) I'm still struggling through the Copland Clarinet Concerto. I am having
trouble with some of the altissimo. I am playing on a Portnoy BP3
mouthpiece and it is very difficult to be sure I am going to hit a high a.
I can get it easily on a more open mouthpiece (Such as an old Selmer H.S. **
someone loaned me). I am just wondering if any of you pros have any tips on
getting solid tones in the higher range. Also are there any better
fingerings for a high a than just "lipping up an f"? This works fine it is
just not very definative.

2.) I now have Wide World Web (WWW) access. I feel as if I know something
when I say that. There have been numerous addresses of "sites" for WWW
posted on this list. I checked some logs but didn't get a good result. If
anybody would be nice enough to post these I would appreciate it. I am
mostly interested in: Picture of remade basset horn from time of Stadler,
Eric Dolphy discography, and any other good ones you may know of. I found
out about one a couple days ago for Jazz Times magazine. It's
http://www.jazzonln.com/Clients/JazzOnln. Enough computer mumbo jumbo.

3.) The other night a friend called to let me know he read that Eddie
Daniels was going to be on television. After my initial happiness I checked
the paper to find out what he was talking about. It turns out that Daniels
and Gary Burton made a video recording of their 1993 Benny Rides Again
album. It is aired often on the Bravo Channel. I just thought I'd bring
this to the attention of those of you with Bravo. I was able to listen to
it even though we had a jumbled signal. I once again must say how much I
enjoy Eddie Daniels. Also if any of you have a copy of this video and are
able to copy it, I would be more than happy to supply a tape, postage, and
whatever else needed, e-mail if possible.

4.) Speaking of Eddie Daniels, whatever became of the discussion of him
stating that K.622 was originally written for viola? Not to bring up a dead
issue (heaven knows we have enough live ones) but after checking the logs I
never really found a conclusion. Well? I somehow don't think this was his
opinion. But, I could be wrong. Who Knows?

5.) And Finnaly, while reading a magazine I saw an ad for a Professional
model Jupiter 931N Parisienne Clarinet. Anybody tried it. It goes for $960.
Just curious, I've seen a lot of hype for it. It was in Jazz Times magazine
February 1995 pg. 30.

Well I wrote this whole message without once mentioning Stoltzman. :)

Best Wishes,
Michael A. Cassara
