The reason Thea makes so many more recordings than she used is simply
(as I've explained before) that she's partly withdrawn from the
concert platform because she spends so much of her time supporting her
aged mother.

The fact that there's so little income in clarinet playing (all of my
teachers have been married to other performers, or have had an
entirely different "main" job; Thea's a widow), seems to mean that
Thea can't pay for support, and so has to do it herself.
