Although the original opinon of Brittish clarinetist might have been put
with a little less diplomacy than one might have liked, surely we don't want
to go the way of some form of absolute relativism with regards to standards
of play. And I should think that a format dominated by professionals would
be exactly the right place to consider considerations of quality.

I haven't heard all three of the "Queens"; however a recent purchase of a
CD with Emma Johnson performing Crusell, Weber, Baermann and Rossini
proved to be a serious disappointment, especially since the most recent
purchase before that is the Sabine Meyer recording of much of the same work.
Played side by side and assuming that the difference isn't in the recording
engineers, frankly the Johnson recording is an insult to the buyer.
