I can only agree with Neil:

The 'famous' british clarinetists mentioned ARE TRULY the worst
players around named as soloists, and are the best example of what
the recording industry can make people into, regardless of their
quality. You only need to compare some recordings made by the trio
mentioned to the same pieces of music done by others: e.g. Emma
Johnson trying Crusell, or Karl Leister performing Crusell.

Actually, I do admire the Weber No. 1 by the Peyer, but I can hardly
imagine him doing Spohr better than the recordings by Leister on the
Orfeo label.

Of course there is a personal aspect of liking players' sound, etc.,
but the lacking quality of sound and lacking technical abilities of
the three 'Queens' is really too obvious.
