For those interested, Uhl has written two fine wind octets (at least
two that I know of). The first, which is entitled, "Eine Vergnuchliche
Music." was published in 1953. I performed this piece at a symphony
concert a few years ago, and it is such a favorite of mine in the octet
literature that I have I have played it informally at the rate of once
or twice a year for the last fifteen years

The other Uhl octet, which was published in 1988, is entitled,
"Drei Tanzstucke." Although it is shorter than the first octet, it is
also a high-quality work and very enjoyable.
