Friends,

Regarding inquiries about Alfred Uhl, such as the one following...

>> I believe the Divertimento was written in 1943. Does anyone have any
>> information about him or this piece? It is an exciting and interesting work
>> and I would love to know more about it.

I have Herr Uhl's address in Vienna. I corresponded with him when
I performed his Trio for clarinet, viola, and piano. He was a
very gracious correspondent and I feel sure he will write to you
if you contact him. He does not speak English...you'll have to write
in German. However, if you are serious about learning more about
him and his music, I'm sure it will be worth your while to have
you letter translated if you do not speak German yourself.

I do not wish that Herr Uhl be disturbed by dozens of unsolicted
letters, therefore I will not post his address to the KLARINET
list. Contact me personally with your personal email address
and I will put you in touch with him.

And, since I'm now out from under a huge backlog of work, I will resume
my participation in our discussions. Sorry for my long silence.

Regards to all,
Stan Geidel
