Having done Mahler 1st a few times, I realized not to sweat too much on the
3rd-4th movement transition. After all the other three clarinets are in
UNISON the entrance into the fourth movement.

If Garrett thinks Mahler 1 is annoying, he ought to try Mahlers 4th. I
recall at least 10 changes for the 3rd clarinet part in the 1st movement of
Mahler's 4th, between B-flat, A bass, B-flat bass and C clarinet. Most of
them are very fast changes. Makes the Mahler 1st transition to the 4th
movement trivial...
