It seems I replied to the questioner (Christie Vohs) directly instead of
to the list. This is one of the octets on a fairly recent recording by
Sabine Meyer's ensemble. I _believe_ that it is the one which has an
extended hyperactive triplet sixteenth motif for clarinet as the first
theme of the last movement, though I may be wrong. I have only heard it
on the radio while doing something else. If you don't know what I'm
talking about, you haven't heard it --- it's quite unmistakeable, lasts
(my guess) at least 12 bars, and comes back twice.

If it is this octet, then it is not one of the 3 MR ones you mention, Dan.
It's also (I believe) not one of the few (?) that Panton/Artia in Prague put
out, edited by Antonin Myslik.

It sounds amazing!

Martin
(who may have egg all over his face if it's another octet)
