It is my understanding that Bartolozzi was written with Italian
instruments and their particular acoustics in mind, most of which do not
work on the french style instruments we play here. Phil Rehfeld has a
wonderful encyclopedic book on the subject, and there is another book,
The Clarinet inthe 21st Century, by E. Michael Richards (self published,
I believe) that seems like it might be useful.

If we can lure Gerry Errante (president of ICA) out of lurker-hood,
perhaps he can give us a more complete list of useful texts.
