I am curious whether anyone has any information about a mouthpiece
maker named Wells who used to produce mouthpieces in the Chicago area. I
have been playing on a Wells which came with my first student horn back
in 1959, and I recently talked to a classically trained clarinetist who
grew up in Chicago and who had a mpce custom-made by Wells about 10 years
ago (apparently he is no longer living). Both are really great mouthpieces.
