Hello everyone. Almost any not on the clarinet can be turned into a
multiphonic. For example if you finger " A" on top of the staff, & lip
down a bit you can hear the undertone. That note should be first space
"F". Play a chormatic scale from the top of the staff "G" to "c" & you
can hear a chormatic undertone from Eb to open 'G". Other 'Fun" things
to do is play any long finger note such as low Ab, & open a diferent
regester vent (other than the usual one). Fingering low Ab and opening
the bottem side key should sound a Db, F#, Cb. Finger the low note &
open the C#-Gb key, & you should get all kinds of goodies. Open the 2nd
finger in the left hand as vent. Open the A or G# keys doing the same
things. Play around. You'll find them.

If you like this kind of music Eric Mandat has a CD of his own
compositions out. Its all for clarinet alone, but you'd never know it.
He one of the best at today. Bill Smith as well

Also any music by Ronald Caravan is fun to play. Mandat's music is quite
difficult, but fun to listen to.

I hope I did this right. I've one of the long time readers-first time
writers.

J
