You don't mention what type of playing (concert, jazz) that you do. Buffet
makes a perfecvtly respectable CLEAR PLASTIC student horn for about $500
bucks WITH COPPER KEYS! It is weird but projects well. Suggest you contact
the Woodwind & brasswind...They have an 800 number. Get a catalog and browse!
It ain't the horn...it's the player. A new buffet R-13 is about $1100. YOU
MUST try before you buy! There are plenty of used horns around in the $600 -
900 dollar range. Haunt the stores! DONT JUST BUY ANY BRAND...Play the horn!
(at lEAST an HOUR!)
