I bought a Prestige A clarinet 2 years ago and absolutely love it
(though I could do without the extra Ab/Eb key; I simply can't reach
it). From my own experience with this instrument and with other
Prestiges I have tried (Bb and A) I think they are well worth the extra
1000 or so. So if you have the bucks, go for ir. Having said that,
you have to bear in mind that there are alwya variations in quality
and you may very well find a super R-13, or some so-so Prestiges.
Just go with the instrument that sounds the best to you. I
would worry less about the keywork; that can always be adjusted.
