This type of advertising is clearly inapproriate for a discussion forum
like KLARINET. It is definitely not proper net behaviour to do it.
If it were allowed to advertise this way, most forums would simply
collapse under a flood of ads, since the cost of sending ads out is
virtually nil. (The big cost is really on us, the readers, who have
precious little time to scan our mail).

Some people do not understand this. Others do understand it, but do it
anyway because they want to make money.

The proper way to handle these advertisements is to send a polite letter
of complaint to the sender and also to the postmaster of the senders site.
Usually, the postmaster will warn the sender, and if the offense is
repeated, the account will be terminated.

If mr Goldberg has been a really bad boy, and sent his advertisement
to all public forums that he could possibly get the address for,
he will get thousands and thousands of complaints, which would serve him
quite right.

The address of the postmaster in this case is probably POSTMASTER@-----.COM
