Though I don't know much about the Tom Ridenour mouthpieces, I do know that
someone else out there is making copies, or should I say copying the chamber,
of the Chedevilles. That person is Charles Bay out in California. The model
is the Charles Bay Professional, they're about $150 a pop, and the chamber
number is H2. The H1's are mouthpieces with his facing and specifications as
far as tip opening and all that but the chamber is that of a Kaspar mouthpiece.
The H2's, however, are his new line and he copies the Chedeville Chamber in
these. I currently play on one of the H2's and am quite happy with it. My My
mouthpiece is so open that you could drive a truck through it but I like it
mainly because the response is good throughout the entire range of the horn and
it really allows for a huge dynamic range. I believe that he copied the
chamber from Budy Wright's mouthpiece, as he played on a Chedeville. Don't
quote me on that but I do recall him saying that on one occasion.

As far as the Ridenour's are concerned, I have no idea but would be interested
to see what others think about them.
