I'm a relative beginner so take my comments for what they're worth.
I tried out several mouthpieces recently with my Buffet R13. The
Buffet mouthpiece that came with the horn I hated at first but came
to like a bit better as my embouchure got better. It is a stuffy
mouthpiece but made a joyful noise. I compared a selmer C85, an
O'Brian Crystal and a Gigliotti #3 facing. The latter struck me as
much the best. Dark sound, relatively free blowing. My teacher did
not recommend Gigliotti, (he was pushing for a Combs, which I also
tried but found too bright for my taste), but this one time I went
against his advice and so far so good.Bradd Shore
