Recently I discovered a crack extending into the register key tone hole.

Studying away from home I couldn't take it to my regular repairman. The person
I did take it to sawed it and glued it (his description). He also commented on
previous cracks that I had pinned by my regular repairman. Since the cracks had
gone into the tone holes he said that I must have the tone holes drilled out and
have plastic inserts put placed in their place. This is the first time I had
heard anything like this. Is this really necessary? My regular repairman had
put a ring of glue around the tone holes (this is what it looks like to me and
what the new guy said he did) which was said to be inadequate.

I look forward to your comments.
