I have been subscribed to the list for a few weeks now and finally
have a question. With all this talk about reeds, could some of you write
in about the brands you use and which brands you have the most success
with?? I realize that reed success can vary by mouthpiece, etc. but I am
in the process of trying some new brands and am wondering what other
people's experiences have been.
I had been using V-12's for my first three years here (at the Crane
School of Music at SUNY Potsdam) and then switched to Oliveri reeds. I
have since become very very frustrated with Oliveris and have tried Glotin
and Rico Grand Concerts. I have had some success with these brands but I
always seem to returen to V-12's.....
Any insight would be extremely helpful to me and my fellow clarinet
colleagues!!
