Hi everyone,
I just recieved my November/December issue of The Clarinet. So much to talk
about. First off, is anyone out there willing to show any of the multiphonic
fingerings through this forum? I'm sure that there is a creative way
transmit them through text. It would be greatly appreciated.
Secondly, does anyone else have opinions on the Clarinet Altissimo
method I have mentioned before? It supposedly shows fingerings and embochure
tecnique for the fifth octave on Bb clarinet. Can this really work? The
author is Dick diBona.
Thirdly, I've only had my Portnoy mouthpiece for a little less than a
year now, but for some reason it has turned green. The only black parts
remaining are the places where my mouth and the ligature touches. Anyone have
any ideas at all to restore it's original color, I would appreciate it.
Finally, I watched the greatest program on television the other night.
Benny Goodman: Adventures in the Kingdom of Swing, was on PBS for their donat
ion drive. It is a documentary on BG and his music. It even had a short
clip of BG playing the Rondo of K.622. It's available from The Time
Warner/Sony Sound Exchange at 1-800-521-0042. It's catalog #166926, and is
$19.98.
Hope someone can answer my questions. Now I'm off to the wonderful
world of pit bands (I'm playing for The Sound of Music and it's getting very
repetetive)
Thanks

Mike
