Oliver,

Thank goodness I've escaped the "shellac attack"!

Dan said he had trouble with the quarter method in that he burned his
fingers. The object, of course, is to burn the reed tip. The quarter
prevents the rest of the reed from burning. The flame should only play
on the quarter lightly. If the reed tip is not burning then it [the reed
tip] is not over the edge of the quarter enough. Of course I'm sure Dan
doesn't have the time to work on reeds, not with the great ARTICLES in
Playboy magazine!

Dan, you set yourself up for alot of zingers!
