Recalling the discussion a while back about suitable software to
write out an odd transposition, I think this may be of interest to
Windows users. [See attachment]

I have tried this software out and been quite impressed with it, as
well as with the author's replies to comments and queries (It seems
there is a bug in some of the new HP inkjet printer drivers which comes
up; but it works using older HP drivers).

Summary: The program lets you enter in music, in one to three voices,
and print it. Transposition is also possible. Print quality is good.
You can add text remarks and lyrics. Playback through a MIDI card.
Registration is inexpensive compared to other programs.

Limitations: file format not compatible (as far as I know) with
Finale, Encore,... or MidiScan (viz Tom Ascher's comments a while back).
No polyphony (chords in one part or more complicated pianistic things)
or smaller size cue notes, but the author says he is working on this.
Generally, not as many "features" as finale/encore/... but much less
expensive.
Note entry by mouse/computer keyboard only....not by MIDI keyboard if you
have one.

I have no connection with the program except as an impressed experimenter.

Martin
