Ron,

I, like most, don't trust my instruments to the airline. I always carry
them with me. I've solved the problem of them drying out by putting
stips of orange peel in the case, placed between the joints. I hadn't
thought of putting the case in a plastic bag...sounds like a good idea.
By the way, I use orange peel regularly in my case especially in the
winter months. It will tighten up a bell ring over night.
