A bit more about flying with your clarinets--I always hand carry mine and
make sure that the humidity level remains up in the case. Airliners have
a very very low humidity in the cabin. I have noticed on long flights
that not only do I get "dried" out but it can really raise havoc with
your instruments and reeds. Members of the list from the northern
areas probably know only too well the problems in the winter months with
loose rings, etc. I have even gone so far as to wrap a small plastic
garbage bag around the case under the cover for flights to Europe.
