The maple regarded as best for pro bassoons comes from what used to be
Yugoslavia (I don't know which region/country). For whatever reason,
domestic maple is considered inferior. It's possible that the
"Yugoslavian" maple is experiencing an even more immediate supply
problem than grendilla.

Who made the rosewood clarinet that you saw? I've seen a beautiful one
made by Luis Rossi, but it had silver keys.
