In response to Dan Leeson's comments on O. Lee Gibson, Dr. Gibson
received his doctoral degree from the Eastman School of Music. He
doesn't have a degree in acoustics, but I've been told that he
contributed much advice to the making of the Vandoren V-12 reed in
addition to his writings on clarinet acoustics.

This is what I've heard from the clarinet teachers here.
