Greetings all,

I've got a couple of questions I'm asking for my friend who's gigging
this winter in the Virgin Islands.

1) What precautions should he take if he is checking in his clarinets
as luggage? He wonders if the cold, unpressurized cargo hold wil
crack the wood. I've already told him that he is better off hand-
carrying his horns.

2) He'd also like some advice on oiling. Will it protect the wood
from said cargo hold and how important is it when he reaches the
islands?

Thanks for the attention,
Ronald Atienza
