There were some questions about Charlie Bay earlier this week and
I thought I would put my 2 cents in. Charlie lives in West Lake
Village, California. You can call information for the phone #. (I have
it but I am not sure if the rules allow us to give out phone numbers.)
Charlie is a very good technician and quite a funny guy! He can
get carried away, at times, but I have found him to be quite
knowledgeable about clarinet acoustics. As far as his bass curved
clarinet neck, don't expect to buy it without a mouthpiece! He
insists you buy the whole package.
I also saw a reference to Tom Ridenour's book "Clarinet fingerings:
A comprehensive guide for the performer and educator" It is published
by the G. Leblanc Corp. and can be ordered from most music dealers. It
retails for $6.50.
I am a District Sales Manager for G. Leblanc in the Southeast and
will be available to answer any questions concerning most music related
products. I assure you, my intent is not to "sell" over the internet.
If I can be of assistance in researching questions of a technical
nature on any product or product line, please feel free to ask. Tom
Ridenour is a personal friend and has agreed to assist me when needed.
(I enjoyed the personal insights on Percy Grainger, his music is a
personal favorite of mine!)
Thank you Dave Kaminsky, Orlando
