Subj: Difference between "brilliant" and "bright"?
Date: Sat, 19 Nov 1994 18:21:08 -0500

I was looking at various ligatures in a catalog (weiner) and the BG
ligature has three different types. The first one is the "Standard" that
claims to be free blowing and dark. The second is the "Revelation" which
gives easy staccato and has a bright sound. The last one is named the
"Tradition +" which is also the most expensive one and comes in either
Nickel or Silver and claims to be free blowing and has a brilliant
sound. Can some explain to me what the term "brilliant" means?

Another thing, with my teacher pushing me to create a "dark" sound, I
think I have it. Or is it stuffy? I'm really not sure what the
difference is. Maybe my cold is causing me to sound kind of funky.

Regards.
