re: Beethoven "Quintet", Op. 71 - This piece began its life as a sextet, and
was arranged as a quintet for the famous "red book" (really orange, and yellow
at last sighting!) for wind quintet published by Southern Music. The arrangement
may be by Andraud(?) There is another arrangement by the Philadelphia WW5tet
(Philly Orch) which is a little better, retaining the bassoon solo at the
beginning of the slow movement, and generally a little better "orchestrated"
the the red book version. I'd check that out if you want to play it.
