I just subscribed to this, so if some naive mistakes appear forgive me.

There is a guy up in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada who makes reeds for
people. He gets his cane blanks from Madame Ghys in France and then if you
send him a model reed, he'll do his best to copy it.
I've gotten about five boxes from him and they're super reeds. I think that's
what's most frustrating about Van Dorens -- most of the time you're
searching for good cane -- why not start with good cane and go from there?
Anyway he charges $3.00 (Canadian funds)/ reed (10 in a box)
