First, who is WAClarone who does not sign his notes leaving me
puzzled as to who has such a clever "from" address?

Second, I no longer send my b.c. for repairs but when I did I had
a cardboard carton that I had gotten from the local Safeway. It
was heavily reinforced by me and had another layer of cardboard
that I had cut out of another box. I bought a bag of dunnage
(those are the pieces of styrofoam the size of a thumb that protect
things in transit) and used it for case protection. Took the whole
thing down to FEDEX at 3 in the afternoon, and by 10:30 the next day,
the repairperson had it. I know of some people who have cases with
locks on them and they simply put a tag on the case and send it that
way. The repairperson has had a key sent some time earlier and,
voila, end of story. Shipping the hope diamond is hard, a bass clarinet
is easy.
