However, one may need the instrument frequently. It is such a
disadvantage to be away from your "baby" for soooo long. I personally
hate transposing from an A to Bb or using a plastic, or someone else's
clarinet. To send it away seems risky because who knows what might
happen. It may get lost in the mail, lost in the shop--you can't go over
there and be a hassling client and yell at them. Fortunately, there are
some skilled mechanics in Seattle.
