I think you need to find out what is involved in the overhaul. Will the
technician have the keys replated? Keep in mind that most technicians in
the midwest (in smaller cities) will charge approx. $95.00 to repad a
clarinet. This includes some key fitting, new key corks, regulation and
lost motion removal. An overhaul should include the above,tone hole work
(leveling and tuning) new tenon corks and usually key replating. An overhaul
will start at $200.00. If the instrument is in really bad shape, needing
tenon replacement,tone hole replacement or the like, the cost will be more.
