I wanted to try the Olivieries... The description said that it is dipped
in resin... What does that mean?
Currently, I am using V-12's. They are a LOT more consistent than the
regular Vandorens. I could have picked any one from the box and use
them. However, it takes a while to sand it down before I could actually
play it (I shouldn't have gotten the 4's).
For a while, I thought that Mitchell Lurie's were the best. They were
very consistent and played well, though they don't last very long. Also,
they weren't terribly expensive like the V-12's.
I'm not sure if there is a best reed. I remember back when I thought
Rico Royals were the best--then the La Voz, then the Vandorens, then the
Marca's, then the Mitchell Luries, and now, currently the V-12's.
However, I want to try other things too. (maybe make my own and call them
the Chris Reeds).
Regards.
