My experience (quite a while ago) with Mitchell Lurie reeds was as you
describe- they were more consistent than other brands , and consistently a
half or even full strength softer. The reason I didn't continue using them
is that I found the blanks very thin, and I found the cut too flat (not
enough wood in the heart), so they didn't last very long. If the flat cut
happens to work well with your mouthpiece etc. the consistency might be
the deciding factor... good luck... :-)
