I am interested in getting in touch with persons who will perform at the
summer clarinet meetings. I have three new works for clarinet and piano
which I'm interested in having introduced in these kinds of venues. Two of
them, SIX FOLKSONG STUDIES and RUMANIAN WHIRLING DANCE are soon to be
released by Southern Music Co.(San Antonio, TX). The third work, CHARACTER
SKETCHES(Theme, Variations, and Fughetta) is presently unpublished. It
was commissioned by the Mississippi Music Teachers Ass'n. and premiered at
their convention Oct. 28-29, 1994. It's ca. 20', grade 4 (out of 5) range
to altissimo "a", no multiphonics.
Since it is always rather difficult to get a new work off the
ground, I am seeking persons who might be willing to take a chance on
these pieces. Anyone interested in introducing the CHARACTER SKETCHES to
local audiences can contact me at my e-mail address or write me at
Mississippi College, Box 4206, Clinton, MS, 39058; The $10 cost would
include postage, etc.
Let me close by saying that it's a pleasure to be a part of this
discussion group.
