>>What is the spectrum of income of a clarinettist in a symphony?

Chris,

A clarinetist employed in a major U.S. symphony orchestra will earn, given as
entry level scale wages (1993-94 season's figures), from $18,261 to $68,120.
These figures do not include overscale amounts or any media work (radio,
recordings, etc.). Regional orchestras generally will earn less in the way
of scale wages; in fact, while there have been increasing numbers of regional
orchestras and the number of musicians that they employ, not all musicians
are "full-time" as they are in the major orchestras.

Take care,
Larry Liberson <Hard Reed@-----.com>
