The embouchure for the contra-bass, and bass clarinets is in my opinion not
too different from the other clarinets. The air stream is a bit warmer,
tongue a bit lower, and most importantly, a large amount of reed must be past
the lower lip to be sure of correct response. I tongue down the reed quite a
bit to make sure that I do not squeek much. Sincerely, Chester Rowell,
