Thanks to Victor Wyman <WYMANVIC@-----.com> I now have useable copies of the
photo of Eric Hoeprich's basset clarinet. They weren't as large as I
expected and the uuencoded files should easily be retrievable by e-mail.

There are two files:

BASSET1.UUE which is the uuencoded version of BASSET1.GIF
a monochromatic scan, and

BASSET2.UUE which is the uuencoded version of BASSET2.GIF
a gray scale scan with whitespace deleted.

These files may be obtained by sending an e-mail message to:

mailserv@-----.se

The first line in the text of this message should be the command:

SEND BASSET1.UUE

The second line in the text of this message should be the command:

SEND BASSET2.UUE

It is *absolutely imperative* that there be no white space prior to these
commands -- no blank line, no space or tab, no nothing.

It is also imperative that there be no text in the body of the message
prior to these commands.

If the mail server receives what it regards as an invalid command it will
simply ignore your request without returning an error message.

If you need a program to convert the uuencoded files to GIF files, you
can fetch a copy of a uudecoder from many FTP sites, including:

ftp://ftp.nrm.se/sys/pub/software/uudecode.com

I assume that anyone who could access these files via the WWW could just
as easily use the procedures described above. If I'm wrong and anyone
really needs to have these files put up on the Web, I can do so when I'm
next in my office on Monday morning.
