Interesting. There is nothing subjective about one maker producing
instruments with differing French and American bores. Ergo, there are two
separate musical/tonal needs/tastes which are met by the different bore
designs. The remaining question is why these are labeled as French and
American rather than by some numeric or qualitative physical description
of their differences. Why might the objective Mr. Rossi feel that there
are differences between clarinets which are best described by national
designations??
