God... I've always been first chair in my band... Woe Woe Woe. (I have
to settle for 2nd)... Anyone else experience this? I know I can beat
her, its just my respect has gone down now.

Yes, but on a different level. Playing 3rd instead of 2nd. But for me, the
2nd chair player was a better player and our playing together complemented
each other. I enjoyed our harmonies and always being in tune with each
other. We both cared about our tones and sounding well and that has been a
very satisfying experience for me. Sorry I didn't have your individual
