Chris, I am sympathetic to your plight. It is tough to be aced out
of anything, and it is no fun to be anything but the acknowledged best.
I only temper my remarks by saying that different personalities like
different things. Personally, I prefer bass lines to soprano lines. Don't
know why. Just do. So when we play string quartets, give me the cello
part every time. I would not know what to do if I had to play the
soprano line.

But how one behaves when being aced out is a very important part of your
maturation. No intelligent adult shows the anger, envy, or disgust with
the world when he or she is aced out. And that is because the person who
aced you out knows how much you have been hurt, and it is better to die
than to give that person such satisfaction.

There is an old Sicilian proverb: anyone who takes their revenge in less
than 30 years is acting in undue haste.
