You might try baritone sax reeds on the contra, but, as already has been
mentioned, if the mouthpiece window is wide, this may not work. I have used
bari reeds, (Vandoren 2 or 3) medium strength, on the Eb contra-alto with
good results. Is there a music store in your vicinity where you might be able
to choose a few from a box? At least to check the width. Rico and LaVoz
seem to be a more narrow cut than VanDoren. Good luck......Lee Callet
