When this thread first started and Dan Leeson posted that regional sound
didn't exist I thought it was a typing mistake, however, it is obvious to
anyone with a critical ear that regional/national sounds do exist.

As a case I would propose that listening to a German clarinettist
performing any chamber work vs. an Englishman/woman doing the same. If you
can't hear the difference I would be shocked. Not only are they playing on
different instruments, but the style and sound objectives are as far apart
as could be concieved.

Now, I would like to clarinetify that I refer to schooling, not their
ethhic background.

Regards,

Jay
