Dick, thanks for your extended comments. I am not going to repeat what I
said to several other who took issue with my comments because I presume you
read them. But the bottom line is that you saying so, does not make it so.
You are obliged to state what the differences are in objective terms that we
all can use to evaluate the evidence.

If you really want to try a blind test, I'll make up a tape and send a copy
to both you and a third independent party. To the independent party I will
send a list of who is playing what. Then all you have to do is listen to
the tape and say (1) is English, (2) in German, (3) is Italian, etc., etc.

After you have passed the test with flying colors, you will then get my
apology. If you don't pass (and you won't - you won't be anywhere near
right - no offense), you must send me a package of macademia nut cookies
and agree that we both have tin ears.

I look forward to my cookies or else learning something and then apologizing
to you. Oh yes, the material will include solo music and orchestral music
with a prominent clarinet part, both concerto and not concerto.

And I am glad you have joined the board to share your views with us.

Call me Dan. I'm not fancy, just iconoclastic.
