I can probably dredge up a text on the methodology of mouthpiece
description that I wrote a while back and will post it to the list if I
succeed. I don't know who is going to acquire a half dozen of every
mouthpiece on the market and apply the measurement techniques to them,
though. Nor, I hope, is the proposed handbook supposed to contain
qualitative descriptions of the performance characteristics of all these
mouthpieces.

While I'm looking for the stuff about how to describe tip opening, lay
length, etc., perhaps someone would care to provide guidelines about how
to weigh notions of, "good for what, for whom, and in what context", into
our speculative best-seller.
