For those involved in performance contexts where various pitches
standards may be encountered, perfect pitch is an absolute nightmare.

It is extremely likely that the pitch of a wooden clarinet will rise over
a period of 200 years. There are several mechanisms which account for
this but few are likely to be species dependent to any great extent.
