Re some of the questions of Stadler's instrument. I am speaking second hand
since I have not yet seen the material but I am told by a very reliable source
that the picture in the Vilnius catalog was a picture of the instrument that
he was playing on that evening; i.e., his standard basset clarinet though I
do not know if it is in A, B-flat, or C.

When I get the picture, I will post a note to that effect and ask who has
the technology to scan it, upload that, and distribute it on the board. I
do not have such equipment. Then I will fax the picture to that person
to do the job.

I am as anxious as any of you but the guys involved are playing this
weekend and a portion of next week too and I am not on the top of the
list of things to do. If any KLARINET member lives in Boston, he or she
could do us all a service by attending the performance of the clarinet
quintet (K. 581) and telling us what happened.
