Since I'm new to this list, I'll introduce myself before writing my two
cents worth. I'm a sophomore music theory & composition major at Ohio State,
with clarinet as my principal instrument. I've only been on Klarinet for a
week or so, and I've enjoyed reading all the mouthpiece discussions.
Even though I'm still quite uneducated in the ways of mouthpieces, I've
heard that B45's are fairly decent student mouthpieces. I used one all
through high school, with good results. I've since outgrown that, and I am
now trying out a Pyne (He's the clarinet prof here, so I can get a good
price!). So my recommendation is a B45, since it's good and not outrageously
expensive.
