There's at least one more piece of software available for composing,
transposing, arranging, etc. I've been using QuickScore Professional,
from Dr. T's Software. It's under $50 and accomplishes all the necessary
tasks. I've been using it to produce transposed sheet music from MIDI
files. If you want to key in notes manually, there are two options. The
mouse works, but is quite slow. Much faster is to use a MIDI-equipped
synthesizer keyboard cabled to your sound card. This works even if you don't
play piano. The sheet music, when printed on a laser, look super. If you need
to add extensive annotation, you can finish the job with a companion program
Copyist. (I haven't needed the extra features here).
